Today’s 14th annual MLK Day Scholarship Prayer Breakfast raised over $5,600.00 in scholarships for Key West High School seniors.

Thanks to everyone who turned out to hear Commissioner Clayton Lopez’s stirring remarks and eat a proper Southern breakfast. And thanks to all the volunteers from multiple religious traditions who planned, organized, prepped, cooked, welcomed, served, and cleaned up.

I’m proud and grateful to be president of the Key West Interfaith Ministerial Alliance.

Happy 95th birthday, Dr King. We miss you. We’re still carving that stone of hope out of a mountain of despair.
