Unclench Your Fists

Most of us don't struggle with knowing we should forgive.

We struggle with "wanting" to.

Jesus put it plainly:

Matthew 6:14-15 (NIV) -- "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you."

Holding onto unforgiveness feels like control -- but it's actually a prison.

It keeps old wounds alive and lets past hurts keep charging rent in today's peace.

Forgiveness doesn't mean what happened was okay.

It means you're done letting it own you.

And Sometimes the hardest forgiveness isn't for others -- it's for YOURSELF.

We replay our failures, mistakes, and "if only I had..." moments like a broken record. But God doesn't hold grudges the way we do.

Scripture reminds us:
1 John 1:9 (NIV) -- "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us."

So today, unclench your fists.
Forgive someone who doesn't deserve it -- because grace never waits on deserving.
And if needed, accept the forgiveness God has already given YOU.

-- Lord, help us forgive as we've been forgiven and free us from carrying what You never asked us to hold. Amen! --
