This past week has been such a whirlwind. Our team left for Cheney, WA to compete in District Championships with the team on a school bus and the robot following behind in a minivan. We had a tough start but fixed the technical difficulties we were having and got into a groove on Days 2 and 3. During alliance selection, we were so honored that fourth seed Team 2147 Chuck made us a first-round pick and we rounded out our alliance with team 2557 SOTAbots. We ended getting to the semifinals and are now off to Houston, Texas next week to compete at Worlds!!! Here are few highlights from our week.

Well, we finished this event in 8th place out of 33 teams and then got eliminated on team 5 in the quarterfinals (we lost our last match by a single point 😢). We now have two weeks to improve our robot and try again at the Sammamish High School Event. Here are some fun pics from the weekend.

LW Robotics team members volunteered their skills to assemble bedside tables and chairs for St. Vincent de Paul. These furniture items will be given to neighbors in need in our community. Way to go Code Purple!
Special thanks to Anthony Popescu, Ash Hodgson, Alex Turner, Lucas Hall, Mani Dehghan, Menna Mandy, Thomas Roe and our Mrs. Sirjani and Mr. Cattan!

For filmmakers of new horror-comedy ‘They Reach,’ filming in the Pacific Northwest was important If scenes from the recently released horror-comedy film “They Reach" — an inventive cross between “The Goonies,” “The Evil Dead” and “The Exorcist" — happen to look familiar, that's because it was filmed in the Puget Sound area.
