🚨 Getting a call from your bank asking to verify your account? Stop. Think. Hang up. 📵

GoVA Foundation sat down with Terri Miller of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to talk about one of the most important things the Veteran community can do to protect themselves from scammers. Her advice is simple but powerful: 👉 Pause. Think. Hang up the Phone.

Scammers are convincing. They sound legitimate. They have your name, maybe even your bank's name. But here's the question Terri wants you to ask yourself: "Why would my financial institution need to call ME to verify MY account information? "They wouldn't. That's not how it works If something feels off, hang up. Then call your bank back at a number YOU know and trust, like the one printed right on your debit or credit card. That one habit could save you thousands of dollars. 💳
