There are many rewards to in -- from helping students more about their interests and path; to performing on important topics in your field; to providing to local and global communities through shared dialog. It is especially rewarding when some, or even all, of these objectives come together.
Today, thanks to modern technology (Zoom, Internet, etc.), University of Louisiana at Lafayette Graduate School University of Louisiana at Lafayette College of Liberal Arts Department of Communication, University of Louisiana at Lafayette graduate student, Taiwo Oluyinka and I co-presented a paper with our observations on the future effect of in the industry at the opening panel of a two-day conference -- at Radio & TV Dept. of Cairo University
This was Taiwo's first academic conference presentation. One of many to come.
Our presentation at the conference, "From Broadcasting, to Narrowcasting, to Net casting: Challenges and Implications of the Digital Age" began a little after 11:00 am -- Cairo Time. That's a little after 3:00 am US Central Time. Oh, yes, and on Fat Tuesday. But it was worth it -- and travel time each way was only about 10 minutes. 😊
Thanks to department head Professor Ashraf Galal Hassan Mohamed and all the people involved in preparing the event, presenting at the conference, and all the attendees.
