Join us in welcoming our new associate attorney, McKenzi Marler. She was born and raised in Opelousas, Louisiana, where her passion for law was inspired by her grandfather, Earl Taylor, the former District Attorney of St. Landry Parish. From a young age, McKenzi accompanied him to court and networking events, witnessing firsthand his compassion and respect for the community—a legacy she hopes to continue.

McKenzi previously worked as a legal secretary for Earl Taylor and clerked at Laborde Earles Injury Lawyers. She began her journey with Gibson Law Partners as the firm’s very first Law Clerk in the summer of 2024. From her first week, she knew this was where she wanted to start her legal career. McKenzi is grateful for the mentorship she has received from the seasoned attorneys at the firm and looks forward to contributing to the firm’s culture while helping clients in all aspects of litigation.

A May graduate of Southern University Law Center, McKenzi is now joining our team practicing Corporate Defense. She will be officially sworn in on October 20th. We can’t wait to see the impact she will make at the firm. Welcome to the Gibson Gator team, McKenzi!🐊❤️
