What do headlines that say „Only 30 % of kids in 4th grade read at grade level“ really mean? You can hear the difference between these two kids clearly - one reading proficiently for their grade and the other not. 70% of kids are NOT reading proficiently in grade 4. ➡️ Why do you think that is?? Kids who don’t learn to read by the end of third grade or the beginning of 4th are unlikely to catch up.
