Last but definitely not least, Caleb Wellington, congratulations!

It’s time to hang up the oars and celebrate this massive achievement. You are officially oar-some!

How long have you done Crew?: 

4 Years

What made you start?: 

Random club event and I knew some people in crew.

What are your plans after high school?: 

Go to University at Buffalo and get my masters in Biomedical Engineering.

If you are going to college, will you row in college?: 

I will be rowing in college.

Will you come back and row as an adult?: 

Probably not.

What is your favorite part about being on the crew team?: 

The river and some of the people you meet.

Best song to do a 2k to?: 

I have 3, "SAE" from Blue lock, "Garp's galaxy impact" from One Piece, and "Self-Embodiment of Perfection" from JJK.

What's something you wish you knew as a novice?:  

Backing the blade in.

End of Season Banquet

Another crew season ending with many changes ahead for our seniors. Your teammates and parents are very proud of you. As for those not graduating, this is the moment you should use to reflect about your next steps but also relax and enjoy being your age.

How long have you done Crew?

6 Years

What made you start?

Many of my teammates on my swim team were rowers and highly encouraged my brother and I to try the sport.  During COVID, all the pools were closed but HRRA was having a learn to row class.  My brother wanted to try it, and at first I did not want to sign up, but changed my mind last minute and haven't left the boathouse since.

What are your plans after high school?

I will be attending Union College and studying Astronomy and Biology.

If you are going to college, will you row in college?

Yes! I will be a member of the Union College Women's Crew Team and competing at the Division III level. Go Garnet Chargers!

Will you come back and row as an adult?

I want to keep rowing in my life for as long as possible, so I will definitely look for a rowing club to join wherever I end up.

What is your favorite part about being on the crew team?

The people.  I am so grateful for the amazing friends and memories that I have made.

Best song to do a 2k to?

The Last of the Real Ones by Fall Out Boy

What’s something you wish you knew as a novice?

Never take a water day for granted...the Hudson is unpredictable!

We also had a couple of our members play with the Arlington High School Orchestra. The show was fabulous. All the students that performed have so much talent.

How long have you done Crew?

I started Crew at the beginning of this Spring season.

What made you start?

I started because my friend Jordan and I had agreed to do it together and then I found out that other friends of mine do it. Also, because I wanted to have fun doing something different during my senior year.

What are your plans after high school?

After high school, I am attending classes at the University at Albany.
If you are going to college, will you row in college?

I’d like to row in college, whether it’s recreational or competitive.

Will you come back and row as an adult?

I’m not sure if I’ll row as an adult. If I can keep up with it, I’d like to.

What is your favorite part about being on the crew team?

My favorite thing about the crew team is the camaraderie.

Best song to do a 2k to?

I don’t have a favorite song to 2k to but I enjoy these two genres: rock, and most Latin music.

What’s something you wish you knew as a novice?

As a current novice, I wish I knew earlier that crew is a commitment. However, it’s a good, fun commitment and a beneficial one.

How long have you done Crew?

I've been doing crew for 4 years.

What made you start?

I wanted to participate in a sport that involved more than just rowing on the water while also providing a full-body workout to help me stay in shape. Crew is perfect for that.
What are your plans after high school?

I am starting my academic journey at Dutchess Community College as a Business Administration Transfer major, with plans to continue my education and earn a bachelor's degree.
If you are going to college, will you row in college?

Maybe

Will you come back and row as an adult?

I do not plan to come back to row as an adult.

What is your favorite part about being on the crew team?

My favorite part of being on the crew team has been the friendships I've formed during my four years of rowing. The teammates I've met and the experiences we've shared have helped shape me into the person I am today.

What’s something you wish you knew as a novice?

Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day, and avoid eating a large meal right before a 2k.

I've been doing crew for 3 years now

What made you start?

I wanted to try new things and do a team sport and crew was the one I chose, also I wanted an extracurricular for college application.

What are your plans after high school?

My plans after high school are to go to SUNY at Buffalo for electrical engineering.

If you are going to college, will you row in college?

I would like to do it recreationally and if the opportunity comes I'd love to keep competing.

Will you come back and row as an adult?

It all depends on how my life goes. If I find myself living in this area I'd love to row for HRRA but it's all dependent on where the wind takes me.

What is your favorite part about being on the crew team?

By far the best thing about crew has been the camaraderie that comes with being a team that all mimic the same movement. The feeling when you get run in the boat and start cutting through the water is unmatched.

Best song to do a 2k to?

Anything that will make you feel hyped, some personal favorites are 4 Raws by EsDeeKid, Brother Stone by Don Toliver and Bring Me To Life by Evanescence.

What’s something you wish you knew as a novice?

I wish I had more humility back in my first season and a half to know not to make excuses and blame others when in reality it is the whole boat that needs to improve.
