After Easter, Krista and I finally got to pull off something we’ve been dreaming about for so long—a surprise visit to our dear friends, the Hollidays, in Tennessee. We’d been quietly planning and scheming with Russell for what felt like forever, and seeing it all come together was so special.
Honestly, we’ve never done anything like this before—traveling across the country just to surprise people we love, but it made every mile worth it. And somehow, it got even better. When Ate Emily Mariano heard about our trip, she didn’t hesitate and joined in for a second surprise, which made everything even more unforgettable.
It was a short trip, but it was overflowing with laughter, love, and the kind of moments you wish you could bottle up and keep forever. We even got to spend time with other friends along the way, which made it all the more meaningful (but that’s a story for another time).
Russell, Sara, and Malia—we love and miss you so much. Thank you for opening your lives and home to us, for showing us around your beautiful city, and for filling our hearts in ways that only true friends can.

On this first day of spring, it feels so fitting that we celebrate you, a woman who brings so much life, warmth, and beauty into everything she does.
Thank you for your love, your strength, and all the quiet ways you care for us through the years. Thank you for always championing our gifts and our talents. You never let us forget our roots and where we came from, and your faith and the way you live it out mean more than words can say.
We hope today you feel truly loved, celebrated, and appreciated. You are our constant, our comfort, and one of life’s greatest blessings in our family.
