5:35 a.m. on a Sunday morning. Country Joe & the Fish guitarist Barry Melton was born on this day in 1947. As a member of the Fish, he appeared at Woodstock and was one of the early players to rock an SG.

That first album - Electric Music for the Mind and Body - was one of the first psychedelic rock albums ever recorded. An amazing record.

5:07 a.m. on an unbearably early Saturday morning, which doesn't surprise me since the Dub loves rising early to fully capture the entire weekend. Back on this day in 1951, Howard Leese, the future guitar player for Heart and Bad Company was born.

I've interviewed Howard a few times and he has always struck me as someone who loves the guitar and the history of it. For all of the success he's had - and deservedly so - for him it's still all about a great guitar tone and the perfect riff.

Happy Birthday, Howard.
