Oh my gosh! I just realized I hadn’t posted anything since Friday. This is was when I opened her cage that afternoon. She’s still staying in it most of the time, but I have moved her litter box just outside of it, along with her food bowls. She just has her scratcher and table with blanket in there now. However, she is pulling toys in the cage to play with. 😻 She’s very curious and talkative when other cats come in and she’s just working on her confidence to stay out of the cage and play. I’m giving her all the time she needs to adjust. Shes learning my routine and how the days roll by. She watches me and talks to me while I’m cleaning the kitchen or getting everyone’s food ready. And she’s doing great with physical touch! My pretty, little Sekhmet is settling in nicely and I’m so happy for her!

I’m working on getting things ready to be able to finish up with the last boys I have out there, and I need a break! LOL!

With y’all’s help, I’ve been able to stabilize this community and keep them fed. They’re all so healthy now! Everyone is at a great weight. Eyes and noses are all clear, and they are generally happy little cats living their best lives! To help me continue keeping them fed and helping around me, please take a look at our wishlists.

Even sharing this post gets more views, that helps more kitties! We still aren’t 100% out of the woods. My neighbor loves her cat and he loves her equally, but he needs a little help. I plan on taking him for surgery in my first round of the 9 remaining boys, but he’s going to need meds for his eyes. He’s a little sick, and everyone else is healthy as can be. We need to get him in better shape when he goes to see the doctor. With food donations, it helps offset vet costs. If you’d like to donate to vet costs directly, please call Paws Plus 863-583-5060 and add funds to Gabrielle Landers account, and the monies can be used directly toward any kitty I bring in.

My sweet Sekhmet is starting to trust in me again after sticking her in a trap Monday night and losing what bit of trust she had in me. I added her table and blanket back in since she wasn’t a fan of the box. She’s still sticking to the litter box, but is starting to come back out of it. She gets excited when any of my cats come to the cage and wants to rub on them. She’s very cat friendly and loves the companionship. My little Leo was with me earlier cleaning her litter and freshening her cage and food up, and she wanted to love on him so bad! Tomorrow, I’m thinking of opening the cage door and allowing her to come out into the house to explore and sniff like what I did for Wayne, Patches, and Jasper. Wayne stayed after I eventually opened the cat door back up, but Patches and Jasper went back to their little clan and are happier than ever. I’m hoping this sweet girl will integrate into our clowder here at the house like Wayne and a few others have. I just wanted to share a little update on her progress after surgery.

Baby girl is at Paws Plus for her spay day! Hope she likes the new setup in the cage. I wanted to avoid her trying to get up on the table she had in there and gave her an enclosed box instead. She’ll remain with me for a few days to recover from surgery and make sure her incision heals cleanly, then I’m going to see how she does inside the house here. She was very interested in mama Wayne last night, and Wayne has become my Velcro cat. She literally follows me EVERYWHERE! She even walked the entire feeding route the other morning with me. We did have to stop a few times because she was panting, I carried her during those times and asked her to not follow me again. LOL! So, maybe Sekhmet will want to stay here with us. If not, no big deal. I’ll return her to her crew just down the way. Cross your fingers that she’ll want to stay close to all of us at the house here!

I got sweet Sekhmet transferred into the trap tonight. Just slowly moving into her cage with a towel. I gently placed it around her and gently scruffed her neck. Then I wrapped my hand around her bottom to keep her calm and secure while I slowly pulled her backwards towards me and the open trap to my right on the floor. She didn’t resist, thankfully!! She has her licky treats on a dish in there with her since she is able to eat until midnight tonight. She’s actually quiet and calmly watching her aquarium and music for the night. I’ll be up at 5 to get out and feed everyone early tomorrow in order to get her to Paws Plus by 8 am drop off time. I just wanted to post a quick update! Will definitely update tomorrow about surgery.

She finally has a name! I went Egyptian. She’s such a regal beauty! It was between Pakhet (“she who scratches,” lioness goddess of war)
and Sekhmet (Egyptian goddess of war and healing; takes the form of a lioness). I was stuck on Sekhmet, but she did give me a good scratch on the hand the other night and thought Pakhet was fitting, but I can’t deny that Sekhmet just really struck me and it fit her.

I try to come up with unique names for the babies. Just because they’re street thugs, does not mean they aren’t still royalty.

So, welcome our beautiful Sekhmet!!

No notes again, but I believe these are the orders sent by Andrya Lytle and Shelley Mack. Thank y’all so very much! This is awesome! Little stripey mama will be getting her spay done this coming up week, and then we just have to get the little black mama and her kittens. Then all females in the camp will be spayed!!!! Yay!!!! We have a few boys running around, so they will eventually get their troublepuffs removed before they get too aggressive to each other not having any girlfriends around. I could not have completed this journey in my own neighborhood without all of you rooting me on and helping to support them! It means more to me than you can ever imagine.

My last night with the quintuplets. They gained a little weight over these last few days, which has my heart whole. Little Bobble was pretty skinny. I have a feeling that’s because he bobbled so much, he couldn’t keep hold of a ni**le. He’s so vulnerable! I had to hold his head still in order to make sure he could get the maximum amount of formula in him. Love them, love them, love them, but my mental health is pretty much completely stretched thin and I do not have the resources to give these angels to care they deserve. If you would like to help fund their care and support with Lucia, I’ll definitely send her payment links and who she will be using for vet care. She typically uses Paws Plus, but she does have just a couple of other vets. Plus, if Bobble has Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), he will be needing supportive care and a specialist. Thanks for following us with these angels!

I don’t know who to thank! There was no note, but thank you so much! I can’t wait to add these lickies to tomorrow’s feedings!

I am sending the kittens to a more experienced and better suited rescuer and her partner. They have the outreach and support system to properly vet and care for them. The 10 am feeding did not go well. The kittens are eating and pottying well, thats not the issue. The issue is the medical care they need that I can not provide. One of them had a swollen eye and more pus coming out of it than I like to see. Any is too much, but this was more than just simply watering eyes, plus the swelling isn’t good. Also, the little boy with the wobbly head is doing well, but beyond my skill set. My mission is TNVR. Not round the clock kitten care. I don’t have the support system and funds to do that. I do know how to bottle feed, I do know how to care for neonates, just not 5 at once. It is too much for one person who also has to keep the other cats entertained, fed, and healthy. The lack of sleep interferes with me providing the level of love and attention I give to everyone each day. The kittens are getting everything. When they’re sleeping, I’m in the bed resting or napping for 45-60 minutes, just to get right back up and do it all over again. About to go feed them now, will be updating after I give them up this evening. I love them so much! This is the best for them. They will NOT make it if they stay with me. And my mental health has taken a drastic turn into the dirt as a result. I appreciate the love from you guys, and your support for my TNVR angels, but these babies shouldn’t even be here if I’d had my way with it. Sometimes personal life tries to knock us down. This is the risk when you bring in a young, unsocialized mother cat. I knew it when I brought her and the babies home that it was possible she’d now reject them. Fortunately, she is safe and will be spayed next week and live her life happy and healthy, and now these angels will be able to actually get a chance to live full lives. And my crew can get back to normal around here.

I’m tired. So tired. That is formula all over my shirt. It takes almost an hour to feed all five, then stimulate each one after feeding. Clean up their faces, and freshen up their pad and towel in their cage. And it has to be done every two hours. I ordered a multi teat silicone bowl to try out. That will definitely make this much quicker if they take to it! I can hand feed one and the other four can eat at the same time. It’s been hard, because when I rouse them for feeding, they start crying and all are ready at the same time, but it takes about 10 minutes per kitten. This is why I’m such a big advocate of spay/abort and kicking myself for allowing this to happen. Granted, we didn’t have transport to get mama fixed during that time, and I’m glad they’re all here and safe. Had they stayed out in the elements, we’d probably lose some, if not all, and I just could not let that happen. We’ve seen so many lost to predators and illness and I had to jump in to action with these babies.

We need to get them in to be seen as soon as possible and need help with that. I want them to be seen at Paws Plus in Lakeland, 863-583-5060 and the account is listed under Gabrielle Landers. Any funds can be used directly to these sweet angels. Help us help them.

I’ll also add our wishlists, food donations always help towards freeing up my personal finances to put towards vet care. Thank you so much for your kindness and support!
