Before one of our apartments welcomes its next resident, we're looking for a few volunteers to help give it a fresh coat of paint.

For Thalia, one of our participants, and millions of others, abuse isn’t physical. It’s a slow, steady loss of freedom, confidence, and sense of self that chips away at everything a person would need to feel safe enough to leave.

This is coercive control, an abuse pattern that leaves an individual in a vulnerable place where it can feel like there are no solutions.

This is where organizations like Good Sam become lifelines. Having access to safe housing is a vital first step in leaving an abusive situation and finding freedom. 🏠
