Today, we recognize and celebrate Cinco de Mayo! While it is often seen simply as a day of festivity, May 5th holds deep historical significance. It commemorates the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over the French forces at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. More than just a historic milestone, today serves as a powerful reminder of resilience, courage, and the strength that comes from a united community standing together against overwhelming odds. It is also a wonderful opportunity to honor the vibrant Mexican-American heritage and culture that enriches our communities.
