- Thirty years of experience in designing, installing, testing and inspecting
photovoltaic(PV) power systems.
- Member of ten Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Standards Technical Panels (STP)
charged with developing Safety Standards for PV power systems.
- Trained more than 6000 electrical inspectors, PV installers, electricians and electrical
engineers in the National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements for PV systems.
- Writes bi-monthly (now quarterly) article series, “Perspectives on PV”, for the
International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI) magazine.
- Participates in sustainability activities at New Mexico State University
- Retired from 24 years of full-time employment at New Mexico State University in
2013. He continues to work as a temporary employee in his previous position with
25% of his time involved with PV systems, codes and standards, and direct-current
microgrid technologies.
