Our Story
Mercy Ambulance was established in 1955 in Lansing, MI by Rodney E. Palmer. Mr. Palmer was highly involved in the evolution of emergency medical services for the State of Michigan as we continue to know it today. Mr. Palmer contributed largely giving input to the state of Michigan on the first EMS legislation establishing the basic emergency standards we still see in EMS today.
Mercy Ambulance provides advanced life support (ALS) services throughout the Tri-County Medical Control Region that includes Clinton, Ingham and Eaton counties. This includes providing 911 services to the City of Dewitt, Dewitt Charter Township, Riley, Olive, Victor and Bath townships. We also provide these services in Barry county to the City of Hastings and Hope, Carlton, Rutland, Irving, and Baltimore townships
In addition to 911 coverage, we also offer a variety of non-emergent transport options. Some examples include to and from dialysis, hospital to hospital, doctors appointments and out of state transport. Our Amb-U-Cab vans are specially equipped with wheelchair lifts and safety restraint systems keeping our patients comfortable and safe.
