I've been writing poetry for awhile now, and I finally feel it's time to share some of it. It may not be good, but it is what it is.

Being the best at being sad
The harbinger of lonely
Endurer of consternation
Marinating in the melancholy of misfortune
May I feel all your anguish for you
So you may continue floating
I’ll embrace the heartache
Soak up all the tears
Keep my head bowed and shoulders wide
To carry all your pain and fears
So smile on cheerful people
Worry not of anything
For my super power
Shall relieve you of your shame
I’ll walk the Earth alone
Day and night
Night and day
Absorbing the devastation that is your hopelessness
Pour over me with misery
I’ll welcome it without hesitation
Shall you not, feel the sting of wallowing
For I’m built for empathy
Now trot along newly happy people
You’ve dumped your suffering
Let the bounties of your bliss lift your faces to the sky
The sun shall shine
I’ll be sure of it
For I am now the keeper of your clouds
All endurer of the gray and guilt
Every heartbreak and pain you’ve felt
Just lay them at my feet
I’ll don them with a strength and will
Just call me Mr. Melancholy
And I’ll set your mind at ease
