I purchased a rental property (Duplex) last Summer and the Township just reassessed my taxes at 36% higher than last year's SEV (128% higher than last year's Taxable value).

A property tax increase is ALWAYS expected after the sale / purchase of a property, but this simply is not justified.

So, next week I will be partaking in the March Board of Review (part of the Michigan Tax Tribunal) with this particular Township and will be appealing this SEV increase.
