Today I voted no on Republican's proposal for the human services portion of the Michigan Department of Health and Services budget. At a time when families are struggling to make ends meet, we cannot afford to make more cuts to programs that they rely on to meet their basic needs.

Happy 313 Day to the greatest city in the world! 💙
Today we celebrate the heart, hustle, and history of Detroit. From the neighborhoods that raised us, to the small businesses that power our local economy, to the artists, workers, and families who make this city strong!
Today I celebrated 313 Day by volunteering some of my fellow Detroit caucus members. We spent the afternoon with the incredible team at the Friends of Detroit Animal Care Control, who work every day to care for animals in need and connect them with loving homes. Their compassion and dedication are an example of what makes Detroit such a special place. 🐾
I’m proud to represent Detroit in the Michigan House of Representatives and to fight every day for the people who make this city what it is. Detroit has always led the way with resilience, innovation, and community. Let’s continue supporting our local businesses, uplifting our neighborhoods, and showing the world what the 313 is all about.
