We were delighted to join the Grand Ledge Area District Library Summer Reading Kickoff and connect with so many community members!
Visitors enjoyed using the Braille LEGOs to write their names in braille. We also had the opportunity to share information about the FREE Braille and Talking Book Library service, which provides audiobooks and braille books to eligible readers with visual, physical, or reading disabilities.
Thank you to the Grand Ledge Area District Library for inviting us to be part of this wonderful event and for helping promote literacy and lifelong learning for everyone. We loved meeting patrons, answering questions, and spreading the word about accessible reading resources available right here in Michigan!

๐ Messages That Matter: Library Spotlight ๐
Recently, we received a heartfelt note from a patronโs family:
โI want you to know that we appreciate the wonderful job that you are doing to support the people you serve. Being so visually impaired, Vince can no longer read anything, watch television, or even use our computer. The books that you collect and include on the cassettes that you send are what makes his day so much better. You do such a great job of finding the authors that he wants to listen to. Thank you again for all your work." -Mary Ann
We are honored to have been a meaningful part of this patronโs story, and we are grateful to every community member who allows us to be part of theirs.
