Who do military teens look up to the most? The data might not surprise you, but the reason behind it will.
According to the National Military Family Association’s toolkit, despite the challenges of missing milestones, long separations, and demanding schedules, military teens overwhelmingly name their military parents as their primary positive role models. They don't just see the uniform; they see firsthand examples of:
🔹 Strength under pressure
🔹 Perseverance through sudden transitions
🔹 Sacrifice for a greater mission
Our youth are constantly watching how we handle adversity. When we lead with resilience, they mirror that exact same strength. Parents, keep leading by example; your teens see your dedication, and it’s shaping them into tomorrow's leaders!https://www.isbe.net/Documents/military-teen-toolkit.pdf

What if your teen’s next big leadership lesson didn’t come from a classroom, but from their own community?
Through the 4-H Military Partnership framework, youth development isn't just about learning theories, it’s about Service Learning. Military teens possess a unique, global perspective and high adaptability, making them incredible natural leaders.
When we give them the tools to design, lead, and execute their own community capstone projects, we aren't just keeping them busy. We are building executive function, project management skills, and civic footprint.
Parents and mentors, let’s spark some ideas today!
The Challenge: Ask your teen this week: "If you could change or improve one small thing in our local community right now, what would it be?"
Let us know their answers in the comments. You might be surprised by the massive vision they have! ⬇️
