It’s National Public Health Week!
Health Starts Here: Optimizing Health for All
Everyone should have access to the resources and opportunities needed to achieve their full health potential. Our PHA Members build capacity for the health department and organizations to improve access to care and health outcomes within Ingham County. Thank you to everyone who made our 9/11 Day of Service a success!
Last Wednesday, the ICHD AmeriCorps programs partnered with Edgewood Village, the Michigan Community Service Commission, and the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development - MDARD to host a special day of service in honor of the victims of 9/11.
ICHD AmeriCorps members and MDARD staff worked together to repaint a beloved picnic table, build and prep new planter boxes for the community garden, and put together personalized welcome packets for students in the after-school programs at Edgewood Village!
WILX Channel 10 captured some great footage of volunteers, as well as an interview with our very own ICHD AmeriCorps State Program Coordinator, Jalen Bell! Check it out here: https://www.wilx.com/2024/09/11/lansing-area-volunteers-give-back-while-honoring-911-victims/
