Michigan Connects

In October 2019, several months before I got into recovery, I was sitting in the Ingham County Jail. In this journal I found when looking through my old belongings, I remember how miserable I was.
-“All my thoughts are centered around regret right now…it’s a very dark place for me.”
-“It’s also my sister’s birthday…I feel so sorry I am not able to be there again.”
I do not miss this!! This is why I save a lot of my journals and paperwork from past treatment centers, jails, etc. It always serves me a dose of humility and a reminder that nothing even remotely close to good comes from picking back up.

Sometimes it will hit you at the most random times. “Omg how dumb was I actually?!!?” I have to laugh at some of it because if not I will judge myself 😂

Our lab testing company that we use at Pinnacle, Millennium Health, informed us of a sedative that is showing up in the illicit drug supply more. Medetomidine is a veterinary tranquilizer used on animals like rhinos and is 200-300 times more potent than xylazine. Like xylazine, medetomidine is often used in combination with fentanyl by drug traffickers to increase the high. It sounds like this is showing up more in east coast cities in the US like Philly but it’s only a matter of time before it makes its way to Michigan, unfortunately. Every time you think these trafficking organizations can’t get any lower, they always do.
