The Laredo Police Department’s Auto Theft Task Force is seeking the community's help in locating this unidentified male subject. This individual was involved in a Theft of Motor Vehicle case that occurred at the 2900 Palo Blanco St. on November 22, 2025.

🚨LPD ATTF RECOVERS 20 STOLEN CATALYTIC CONVERTERS🚨

The Laredo Police Department Auto Theft Task Force continues investigating a series of catalytic converter thefts that occurred across North Laredo during the evening hours of May 11, 2026.

Investigators recovered a total of 20 catalytic converters; 12 have already been returned to their rightful owners, while 8 remain in LPD custody.

On May 22, 2026, three juvenile males were detained in connection to the investigation. Charges include Burglary of Vehicle, Theft of Catalytic Converters, Unauthorized possession of Catalytic Converter, and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. This investigation remains ongoing as investigators continue reviewing additional reports and evidence that may be connected to this case.

The LPD Auto Theft Task Force reminds the public that catalytic converter theft is a serious felony offense in Texas. Juveniles are NOT exempt from criminal prosecution and can face serious legal consequences.

🚔Know the signs of possible catalytic converter theft:
• Loud engine noises when starting your vehicle
• Visible cuts underneath the vehicle near the exhaust system
• Vehicles sitting unusually low
• Suspicious persons crawling underneath parked vehicles
