We live in an era of parental controls, monitoring apps, and filtering software. And yes, these tools have a place. But they're not a substitute for relationship.
Here's what research consistently shows: Young people who have OPEN, ONGOING conversations with trusted adults about their online lives are less likely to experience harm. Not because the conversations magically protect them from danger, but because they're more likely to come forward when something goes wrong.

Think about it: If your kid encounters something inappropriate online, they have two choices: hide it and deal with it alone, or tell you. Which will they choose? That depends entirely on whether they trust you to listen without judgment, overreacting, or taking their phone away.

The best protection against online harm isn't a filter. It's a relationship where a young person knows they can come to you with problems.
