Raynor was proud to contribute to the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota, including exterior Calypso Coral Stone, stucco with EIFS finish, and EIFS systems throughout portions of the project.

Designed with both resilience and aesthetics in mind, the Botanical Gardens reflect the kind of coordination required on coastal commercial projects, where finishes need to perform while still complementing the surrounding environment.

The result is a space built to support the gardens’ long-term vision while fitting naturally into the Sarasota bayfront setting.

Commercial finish quality depends on more than the final coat of paint or exterior finish.

Issues in coordination early on can create problems with the final product:

• Framing that is slightly off can lead to uneven finishes and visible alignment issues
• Drywall transitions that do not line up cleanly often show through paint and final finishes
• Exterior systems installed before the surrounding work is ready can lead to cracking, water intrusion, or premature failure

Those issues may seem small at the time, but they risk showing up as bigger issues later. That’s why coordination matters throughout the entire project, not just once work begins.
