Alexia Sky
The acclaimed dancer and award-winning choreographer, is "poetry in motion." Trained in ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, salsa, and hip hop, she has worked in the entertainment industry with directors and choreographers such as Kenny Ortega, Jamie King, Chris Scott, and Jaques Heim. Alexia has performed with Neil Patrick Harris in The Best Time Ever, Christina Aguilera in the American Music Awards, toured with America’s Got Talent’s Illuminate, and has been featured in numerous commercials. Raised in Tampa, Florida she began dancing at age five at Centerstage Dance Academy laying down the foundation for her future. She never stopped. After graduating from Blake of the Performing Arts High School, she started her professional career as a dancer for Royal Caribbean and Busch Gardens Tampa, all the while teaching students the techniques she has developed. In 2012, she attended the prestigious circus school,E’cole de Cirque’ in Quebec, Canada training in Chinese pole. As she explored more styles of movement she became a member of Substance Over Hype and began site specific work with the Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre. Currently living in New York, she has redirected her artistic journey towards choreography, teaching and theatrical work. She played Teresita in the production of West Side Story at Paper Mill Playhouse and played in the ensemble of Broadways On Your Feet the Musical at Marquis Theatre. While guest teaching at various studios on the east coast, Alexia continues to perfect her technique while sharing her love of performance and movement with students.
