Todd Drake - Albany County Legislator

Today I had the opportunity to speak with Social Services Commissioner Erin Stachewicz and other county staff about the current state of the Department. We spoke at length about the need to stretch resources to help as many people as possible without raising taxes and also about the many unfunded mandates faced by the Department. I look forward to continue working with with them in any way I can to help expand and streamline services.

Proud to support this initiative - as a County, it's important to ensure we have a seat at the table in the high-tech energy sector.

This week, our members voted in favor of a measure that will expand opportunities for high-tech industries related to nuclear power to open and operate in Albany County. Embracing future energy sources will create good jobs for County residents while supporting clean energy.

I was on hand for Shibam Coffee Co’s grand opening earlier today to welcome them to our community. They had a great turnout! I encourage everyone to swing by and grab a cup of their Yemeni coffee and support a local business!

Our Conference is joining the call for increased accountability on delivery charges for utilities. In the midst of a freezing cold winter and affordability crisis, our constituents can't afford painful utility bills.
