What is "roast to order"?

We want to provide you with the freshest beans at its peak quality! To ensure this, we only roast after a customer places an order instead of letting them sit on shelves.

Theres a national day for alot of things but did you know today is National Sticker Day! It is celebrated annually on January 13th, honoring R. Stanton Avery, the inventor of the self-adhesive label, and recognizing the fun and creativity stickers bring to life, from personalizing items to business branding.

Green coffee beans begin their journey raw, dense, and full of potential—but not yet ready to be enjoyed. In their natural state, they carry grassy, woody, and bitter flavors. Refining happens through the roasting process.
As heat is carefully applied, the beans begin to change. Moisture evaporates, sugars caramelize, and natural oils are released. The bean softens, expands, and transforms in color, aroma, and flavor. This process—often marked by the “first crack”—signals that the coffee is developing character.
Throughout roasting, time and temperature are closely controlled. Too much heat, and the bean loses its nuance. Too little, and its full potential is never realized. When done well, roasting refines the bean—bringing balance, sweetness, and clarity to the cup.

At Refined, we roast in small batches so each coffee can be carefully developed, allowing the true character of the bean to shine through. What begins raw and unrefined becomes something rich, flavorful, and worth sharing.
