Meet Kamal Nassar, a senior at Free State High School. Kamal applied to the LMH Health Leadership Academy to learn about healthcare and how leadership applies to the healthcare system, to gain clinical experience and build a network at LMH.

"This experience is teaching me how to improve my communication and public speaking skills and how to have crucial conversations as a leader. I've been able to learn more about hospital operations and get information about different departments, including oncology, cardiology, imaging and neurosciences."

Meet Aliya Kyle, a Lawrence High School graduate who will attend The University of Kansas this fall. She joined the Leadership Academy to learn from experienced healthcare leaders, develop her communication and decision-making abilities, and learn ways to make a positive impact within her future organization.

"Throughout the academy, I have learned that leadership is about serving others, communicating effectively, and being willing to learn from different perspectives.

"I have also gained a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities in healthcare, built meaningful relationships with my peers, and developed skills that will help me improve patient care and contribute to the organization’s mission and future success."
