A service club, the Lawrence Rotary Club has approximately 200 dedicated and civically engaged members. The group meets weekly at noon on Mondays.
Lawrence Rotary was honored to welcome fellow Rotarian and KU Professor Emerita Dr. Diana B. Carlin, a nationally recognized scholar of America’s first ladies.
Drawing from her books Remember the First Ladies and U.S. First Ladies: Making History and Leaving Legacies, Dr. Carlin shared fascinating stories about the women who helped shape our nation—much of it the history we were never taught. From quiet influence behind the scenes to courageous public advocacy, their contributions reveal a richer and more complete picture of American leadership.
Thank you, Dr. Carlin, for bringing these remarkable women and their often-overlooked legacies into the light.
We are always looking for new members who are interested in connecting with others, having a good lunch on Monday, and serving others. Do you know someone that you can invite?

Happy 4th of July! We kicked off the holiday week with our Annual Celebration, where we recognized Peggy Johnson as Rotarian of the Year, Max Fride as this year's Rotary Rock Star, and welcomed Heather Hoy as our new President. Thank you to Lied Center of Kansas - Performing Arts Center Director Derek Kwan for emceeing and Arterra Event Gallery for hosting!

A group of us gathered with fellow Rotarians from Lawrence Central Rotary Club and Jayhawk Breakfast Rotary Club at Johnny's West last night to watch the first World Cup match!
