How important is your after care support? Having a friend, child, spouse or other family member to help with your recovery makes a big difference! Some of the support they provide is physical (helping clean incisions you can’t always see, provide your medications on schedule, feed you) much more is the emotional support they give. When you’re bruised and swollen and really second guessing your decision to have surgery (a very common emotion during recovery) it’s so nice to have a cheerleader helping you “see” the results even when you don’t. We do have overnight care available with one of our excellent and attentive nurses (for those who don’t have a lot of support) but having help during your first week especially is invaluable.
