Loving some Warriors!

Our students know the importance of and supporting each other! LHS student Charlie Harker, (pictured below, far right) recently organized a bake sale to support the Warriors BackPack program. She has helped raise $340 and has found an additional donor who is matching that amount for a GRAND TOTAL of $680!

The Warriors BackPack program is as strong as ever but we sure miss our packers! Due to the coronavirus, the packs are coming from Shared Harvest prepacked. Our amazing delivery team unpacks the truck and delivers to the various schools on Wednesday and Thursday. We are looking forward to the day we can pack together again; but in the meantime, the kids are being fed!

Warriors BackPack is distributing our food packs to be included in the school's resources. Each pack includes 6 meals for one student and the school will distribute them as needed.

I wanted to thank ROTC students who have reached out to us to help. We have had cadets offer to help - not for credit of the time, but for their belief in this program. Whatever is needed, I believe in ROTC for the help and support they have given us through the years.

I understand the School, Joshua's Place, Elks and others have this under control but if you would like to offer you help, contact them.

Our city is full of loving and caring volunteers and I am proud to be a citizen.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Eilene Nielsen, SMSgt, USAF (ret). SMSgt Nielsen was the LHS JROTC Instructor/Drill Team Director since 2012 and served 23 years Active Duty in the USAF. She was an outstanding mentor and friend to all who knew her and touched the lives of many students. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her and our deepest sympathies are extended to her family.
