Man, I'm getting old. This year marks a decade at Simpson. Today I was reflecting on how many siblings I have taught. ...smh. (the little hair I have left is getting grayer)👴🏾

Parents/Guardians
I wanted to stop and take a moment to thank all of the volunteers that showed up this past week for the Colonial Sign hanging event. I know many parents wanted to give us a hand but due to other commitments you were unable to do so. However, thank you for supporting us from a distance. Due to your hard work we were able to hang 350 signs in record time. Just to give you a perspective comparison, 10 years ago when I started with this project, it took us 3 days to hang all the signs; this year we did it in 1 hour and 15 minutes. Though these numbers are quite impressive, it was your willingness to get up early Wednesday morning to volunteer at your child’s school that impressed me the most. I’ve said before and I’ll say it again, Simpson parents/guardians are the best in the world. Thank you again
Good Evening Parents/Guardians,
I’m emailing you to give you an update on the Colonial Sign Hanging Event. As of date, we have roughly 12-16 parents who have volunteered to hang Colonial signs. Unfortunately we have missed our goal of 60 parents, an amount that will ensure a smooth process. Therefore, I’m sending a personal plea for help.I am asking all parents who are able and willing to please give us a hand on Wednesday 03/22 at 7:00 AM -until. Students have really worked hard on this project and your support will bring a close to the final journey of their long project. I’ve included a 3-4 minute video in this email giving some understanding about Wednesday and how you can best support.

I’m looking forward to an exciting and adventurous school year where we will explore everything from the earth’s surface to George Washington’s first command as a general. To bring History Alive, we will collaborate through project-based and center-based learning activities.
