What is the Aether Illustration contest?

The contest is a fantasy and science fiction illustration contest that publishes winners in the Sibyl's Scriptorium yearly anthology. We took a break for a few years, and we're eager to be back!

The fantasy division is open to submissions right now through April 15th, while the science fiction division is open April 16th-May 31st! You can submit ONE illustration for each division.

Additionally, we have 3 age divisions, grades 5th-8th, grades 9th-12th, and 18+ years old.

What is the DragonComet Short Story Contest?

DragonComet is a fantasy and science fiction short story contest founded in 2002. It's the first of the Sibyl's Scriptorium contests, and we're so excited to bring it back!

Early contest winners include names like Jessica Day George, Eric James Stone, and John M. Olsen.

The contest has 3 different age divisions: 5th-8th grade, 9-12th grade, and 18+ older writers.

The fantasy division is currently open for submissions until April 15th, and the science fiction division is open April 15th-May 31st. Submit now and join the ranks of the greats before us!

How many times can you submit to our contests?

One entry PER division PER contest.

This means that right now you can submit one fantasy short story to DragonComet and one illustration to Aether right now! Then after April 15th, you can submit one science fiction short story to DragonComet and one science fiction illustration to Aether!

Everyone! We have contest age groups for 5-8th graders, 9-12th graders, and adults! Just select your age group when you enter your submission!

Don't forget our fantasy divisions for our short story and illustration contests are currently open for submissions until April 15th!
