It's the Halloween Season Which Means Flightmares at The Space Place. The Imaginarium Theater. A blog about the the programs using simulator based experiential learning with a focus on the space centers in Utah.

Hello Everyone!

It's that time of year again - Summer Camps at the Space Place are now live on our website at www.thespaceplace.org/summer-camps. When booking a summer camp mission, be sure to change your date range at the top of the booking service to go to the end of summer so you can see all of the offerings.

We're offering 3 types of camps this year:

*NEW* ROCKET CAMP
FOR: Incoming 6th Graders and Above
TIME: 10am - 6pm
PRICE: $125
WHAT: Enjoy our new 5-hour story "Tipping the Scales". Then afterwards build and launch your very own bottle rocket. Bring your own lunch as there will be a break for lunch (but food is not provided).
DATES: 6/12, 7/7, 7/12, 7/19

DAY CAMP
FOR: Incoming 5th Graders and Above
TIME: 10am - 4pm
PRICE: $60
WHAT: Enjoy one of our awesome 5-hour stories. Bring your own lunch as there will be a break for lunch (but food is not provided).
DATES AND MISSIONS:
Tipping The Scales (NEW): 6/5, 6/7, 7/28
Silhouette: 6/28, 6/30
Gateway: 7/14
Slipstream: 7/26

JUNIOR CAMP
FOR: Incoming 3rd and 4th Graders
TIME: 10am - 4pm
PRICE: $60
WHAT: Enjoy a 5-hour story made for this age group. Bring your own lunch as there will be a break for lunch (but food is not provided).
DATES AND MISSIONS
The Incident (If you did a junior camp last summer you've already done this mission): 6/9, 6/26
Unnamed Mission: 7/10, 7/17, 7/21

It has been a busy week at Renaissance Academy's The Space Place. Every afternoon The Space Place staff and volunteers greet a new Young Astronaut or Voyager Club squadron for their first meeting of the school year. There are over 200 students in the after school club this year. They are divided into squadrons of 7 to 10 members. Each grade level has a Monday Cobra, Tuesday Dragon, Wednesday Lion, Thursday Scorpion, and Friday Tiger squadron.
Take a moment to meet the squadrons that launched last week. Some did better at others at getting the Starship Voyager launched from Outpost 14. One team accidentally fired a missile at the Outpost causing serious damage to both Outpost 14 and their team score for the day. Ouch!
