Picture this. 💙 You know exactly what you think. You understand everything around you. But the words won't come out.

That is aphasia. Your intelligence is intact. Only the words are stuck.

Aphasia does NOT mean less intelligence. It never has.

Share this so more people understand. 🧠

There is no stop sign on the road to recovery. 🛑 Those words come from David Dow.

David had a stroke. He had aphasia. He couldn't speak. He couldn't read. He couldn't write.

He kept going anyway. 💪

Today, David talks. He reads. He writes.

And he helps lots of people with aphasia do the same. It was his idea to start ARC - because he knew the isolation firsthand.

Recovery takes time. Slow and steady.

Never stop. Never give up.

We are ARC. ❤️ We are Family.

One simple request. 🕐 Patience, please. Words take longer with aphasia.

That does not mean they aren't coming. Wait a little longer. Resist the urge to finish the sentence.

Stay present.

That patience is one of the greatest gifts you can give. ❤️

Save this and share it with someone who loves a person with aphasia.

We are ARC. ❤️ We are Family.

Speaking up starts with all of us. 💙

People with aphasia are too often left out. Left out of conversations. Left out of decisions. Left out of community. That is not okay.

Inclusion is not for some. It is for all. ✨

Share this if you believe everyone deserves a voice.

We are ARC. ❤️ We are Family.
