This box might not look like much. But it's the start of a new home. In the past week, 2 of our Day Shelter guests moved into apartments. They pick up their keys from the landlord and a box from us. This box is a shower and shave in their own bathroom. Cooking dinner in their own kitchen. Falling asleep with the door locked, under a clean, dry blanket. It's easy to take these things for granted. Everyone is busy and stressed. But please, take a minute today and look at your life. If you have a roof over your head and you can cook food whenever you want, you have luxuries some people can only dream of. Be grateful for what you have ❤️

This little guy and his stuffed animal quietly leaned against mom while she signed up for our Food Pantry. For a few minutes he walked away to carefully look over the food options (after all, this was a new “store” they hadn’t shopped at before!). Then he got overwhelmed by all of the volunteers waving at him and went back to mom’s side!
This week doors open at 7:45 on Wednesday morning for any neighbor (human or stuffed animal!) in need! We have eggs, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, cabbage, celery, apples, grapefruit, bread, desserts, and meat. Sign up on the spot or online ahead of time (https://trinityjubileecenter.org/food-pantry/)

Being a mother is the hardest job in the world. It is working first shift, and second, and third, 7 days a week. It is exhaustion, tears, and so, so much patience. It is more love than you ever thought possible, and a constant little bit of worry that never goes away. For some moms it is even harder. Some are alone, managing all of the bills, the tantrums, the sicknesses. Some are figuring out how to give their child the safety and love that they never felt as a child. Some overcame addiction and mental illness for their kids and fight constantly to stay stable. Every day we serve amazing moms who refuse to give up. They wait in line for groceries and diapers, read to their kids in the shelter, and sit down with us to apply for a second job. They would move mountains to give their child a good life. We see you, we support you, and we are honored to be able to help. Happy Mother's Day ❤️
The kitchen in our new building is beautiful! We are all settled in and cooking up a storm: over 800 meals going out every week! We love our new home ❤️
