This steel pier was installed beneath the foundation from inside a tunnel. The timelapse shows the pier advancing through the soil until it reaches refusal, where continued hydraulic pressure produces little to no additional pe*******on.

Refusal is the field indication that the pier has reached a substantially stronger bearing layer capable of resisting the installation load.
