Friends, I just wanted to provide an update on the recent Automatic Recount for the 88th District State House Election. The Scott County and Fayette County Election Automatic Recount has been completed and their cumulative final numbers show Representative Cherlynn Stevenson ending up with 37 more votes than my campaign.

The Kentucky State Board of Elections is scheduled to meet on December 20th and at that time, they are expected to Certify the votes from the Automatic Recount. After I receive official notification from the Kentucky Board of Election concerning their official certification of the votes, I will officially accept the results of the election and I will promptly contact Representative Cherlynn Stevenson to congratulate her on her reelection to the Kentucky House of Representatives.

Thank you all for your patience and support as the Automatic Recount process was administered. On behalf of my fellow Republicans and the many wonderful voters, supporters and donors of my campaign, I want to thank Secretary of State Michael Adams as well as the Clerks & Staff of Scott and Fayette County and the Kentucky Board of Elections, for administering this historic Automatic Recount process to ensure fairness and integrity in our election process.

Friends, I wanted to provide you an update on the State House election in the 88th District. I’m pleased to inform you that Secretary of State Mike Adams and our Scott and Fayette County Clerks will be administering a full Recanvassing of the Voting Equipment and Ballots tomorrow morning, Thursday, November 17th.

Because the race was so tight, with me currently losing by 35 votes, the State of Kentucky will automatically administer a full Recount of the Ballots at a later date.

Once these two processes have been administered, I will wholly accept the results of the election. If it is determined that I officially lost the race, I will proudly contact Representative Cherlynn Stevenson to congratulate her on a great campaign, to concede the race and to wish her the best in her new term of office, representing the 88th District.

I greatly appreciate Secretary of State Mike Adams adn our County Clerks for thier support and willingness to administer these two processes so we can all be assured that all votes were counted.

I’m feeling very positive about the entire election process and I feel our elections in Kentucky are fair.

Thanks for all your support and patience.

Friends, I wanted to provide an update on Tuesday’s election.

As you all know, the results of the election for House District 88 are incredibly close: 35 votes.

With this in mind, I feel an obligation to the people of the district and my supporters to request a recanvass in order to ensure every vote was counted correctly.

Whatever the results of the recanvass, I commit to respecting the results of the election.

It has been the honor of a lifetime to run for this office to represent you in Frankfort.

Thank you to all of my supporters and friends who helped make this campaign possible, and supported me along the way.

We ran a positive campaign about how we can bring our people together to improve our economy, improve our schools and to combat crime and restore dignity to our politics.

Regardless of the outcome, I hope to continue working to do that in the future.

Your friend, Jim
