Lexington Fire Department

This past weekend, Lexington welcomed hundreds of firefighters from across the Commonwealth for the 95th Annual Kentucky State Fire School. Participants dedicated thousands of hours to advancing their knowledge and skills through courses including Fire Inspector, Arson Investigation, Fire Officer, Rapid Intervention Team (RIT), Rope Rescue, Trench Rescue, and Confined Space Rescue - Just to name a few.
Training remains the foundation of a strong fire service, ensuring firefighters are prepared to protect the communities they serve across Kentucky.
A special thank you to the Kentucky Fire Commission and the Kentucky Firefighters Association for their hard work in making another successful State Fire School possible.

From utility emergencies to establishing reliable water sources, continuous training ensures Lexington firefighters are prepared to safely and effectively serve our community when called upon.
