Rosa Parks Elementary Chess Club

Thank you to all the parents that came to our parent meeting this week. For RPE students…the process to join the official roster for new players is to request access to our team (Rosa Parks Chess) on the stack team app. Request access to the team…and then once approved…complete the registration tab. For returning players that are already on the app…hit the register tab in stack app and fill out the registration. We need all layers to complete the registration this year…returning and new players alike. Reach out if you have any questions!

2025-2026 Rosa Parks Trailblazing Chess Squadron….”El Fuego” Edition.

Big start to the 2025-2026 chess season for the Rosa Parks Trailblazing Chess Squadron! If traffic was slow coming west on I-64 from Louisville today…the culprit may have for once not been construction but instead the glare from all the trophy hardware riding back from the Louisville Halloween Chess Tournament. K-1 took 1st overall and K-3 took 2nd marking the first regular season team tournament wins for RPE in five years! In K-1 Bindi Green was 2nd overall, Oakley Watts finished 5th, Eland Watts finished 6th and Sylvie Sama finished 7th to round out the scoring for the K-1 squadron. In K-3 Bodhi Green took home third place overall and was supported by Sonny Woodall, Winston Watts, and Wesley Allison as the other top four scorers. In K-5 Eddie Sama took home 11th place in a loaded K-5 field. We are so proud of how our crew kicked off the season!!!

We are excited to announce Coach Alan’s Chess Bootcamp August 4th-7th at Crank and Boom Ice Cream Clay’s Mill location from 8am to 12 noon!

Spots will be limited to 16 and we will cover a range of topics from tactics to openings to end game strategy!
