Reaching Hearts. Changing Lives.

As Lexington Rescue Mission celebrates 25 years of serving our community, we’re looking back on the moments that helped shape our mission and expand our outreach.

In January 2004, the Mission purchased an abandoned nursing home on Glen Arvin Avenue after outgrowing our space on North Limestone. Renovations soon began to transform the building into what would become our new Outreach Center, creating more space to serve individuals and families experiencing homelessness and hardship in Lexington.

For 25 years, every expansion has been about one thing: reaching more people with hope, help, and lasting support. 💙

Ricky has been through more than most people can imagine. From years of addiction and a life-changing forklift accident that left him with a fractured skull and ongoing seizures, he knows what it feels like to struggle and wonder what comes next.

But through the support of Lexington Rescue Mission, Ricky found more than help. He found hope, community, purpose, and a renewed faith in God.

“They helped me get a job. Now, I go to Bible study every day,” Ricky shared. “The people at the House of Hope really supported me and helped me get through everything. If I had been on the streets, I wouldn’t be here right now.”

Today, Ricky is giving back in meaningful ways, even helping paint nearly every upstairs room in our new Community Center after work, because he wanted to serve others the way he had been served.

“The Mission has helped me appreciate what God can do for you,” he says. “My biggest goal now is to watch my grandkids grow up.”

Because of your support, stories like Ricky’s are possible. Thank you for helping provide hope, healing, and new beginnings for our neighbors in need.💙
