💥NEWSFLASH💥 You don’t have to eat *just* enough to get by! 🤯
I believed this lie for way too long. it is OK to feel full and satisfied after a meal. It’s a good thing! Somewhere along the way diet culture has convinced us that full=bad and that we should eat just enough to “take the edge off” our hunger. But actually…if you consistently eat to fullness you’re less likely to feel obsessive and out of control around food.
The belief that eating is just to take hunger away also stems from a fear of hunger. Hunger is scary when you’re restricting, because it often means you want more but you can’t have more. Basically…unsatisfied.
Speaking from personal experience, viewing meal and snack times as a opportunity to enjoy food, nourish my body, and enable myself to NOT focus on food for the next little bit of my day (instead of viewing them like complicated mindgames where I have to trick my body to be satisfied with less) has been life changing.
Ok I started this caption thinking I’d make it short but here we are 😂🤷🏻♀️ If you made it this far…I’d love to know your thoughts or experience with this!
