Operation Dry Water is a year-round boating under the influence awareness and enforcement campaign.

As Texans and visitors prepare to celebrate Independence Day and America’s 250th anniversary on lakes, rivers and coastal waters across the state, the Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPWD) is urging everyone to prioritize water safety after Texas Game Wardens responded to an unusually high number of water-related fatalities last weekend.

From July 3-5, Texas Game Wardens will join the U.S. Coast Guard and hundreds of local, state and federal law enforcement agencies nationwide for Operation Dry Water, a national awareness and enforcement campaign aimed at reducing BWIs and preventing alcohol- and drug-related incidents on the water.

🚤 Operation Dry Water is underway this Fourth of July weekend.

The Truckee Police Department, along with law enforcement agencies across California, will be conducting increased patrols on our local waterways to help keep everyone safe.

Boating under the influence (BUI) is illegal and puts everyone on the water at risk. If you're celebrating, designate a sober operator and make safety your top priority.

Boat Sober. Boat Safe. Get Home Safe.
