“‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” – Matthew 19:5-6

The Greater Than campaign is a coalition of more than 80 state and national organizations, including The Family Foundation. Their central belief is children’s needs are greater than adult desires. The movement believes it is essential for a child’s stability, identity, safety, and flourishing to be raised by both a mother and a father. The end goal of the campaign is to protect the rights of every child to a mother and father and overturn the disastrous Obergefelldecision.

Sadly, since the U.S. Supreme Court's 2015 decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, which nationally legalized so-called “gay marriage,” many children have been deliberately denied a mother and father. However, a recent survey released by the Greater Than coalition showed that many Americans believe children have a right to a mother and father.

The survey polled 1,200 conservative and moderate voters. It found that 96% of these voters say it is important for a child to be raised with both an involved mother and father. Of those surveyed, 82% agree that no child should be deliberately denied a mother or father, and 78% agree that when a child's needs conflict with an adult's desires, the child's needs should come first.

These findings show many Americans reject the Left’s lie that children don’t need a mother and a father. Let us work fervently to advance this growing consensus to retake marriage for the sake of children, families, and truth.

LET US PRAY…

Father, may the Greater Than campaign lead our nation to act to ensure the right of every child to a mother and father. Lord, we praise You for this growing consensus of Americans who acknowledge the need for every child to have the right to a mother and father. Father, we pray for the overturning of Obergefell and for marriage to be honored across America once more. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
