Hey, RUNNERS! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈβ¬‡οΈ

In case no one's explained it to you, running is like a series of single leg hops. That means efficient, powerful stride comes from stability in both of your legs INDEPENDENTLY. This is essential strength for staying injury-free on the trails.

Have you met the single leg overhead press? This exercise builds tolerance in the lower leg stabilizers while training your core to stay upright and centered. It looks simple, but it's one of the most powerful strength moves you can add to your training.

Here's why it works:

🦡 Single leg stance = builds the hip, glute, and ankle stability you need to stop energy leaking with every step

πŸ’ͺ Overhead press = forces your core to work overtime to keep you upright and controlled. NO CHEATING!

πŸ”— The cross-body connection = pressing overhead while balancing challenges the diagonal sling system that runs through your body. The same system that connects your opposite arm and leg when you run! Train it here, feel it out there.

πŸ“ˆ Scaleable effort = you can start practicing this movement TODAY! Whether you're still building balance or can press half your body weight, this exercise will stay in your rotation for years.

This is functional strength, not isolation. We're breaking down exercises like this Saturday, June 13 at Brooke's Strength + Stretch for Runners workshop!

Save this if you want stronger, more resilient running πŸ“Œ
