🐴 Horse Spotlight: Snowball 💜

Meet Snowball, one of the beloved horses at Circle T Ranch that we use to teach horseback riding for the developmentally disabled though Alta California.

When Snowball first arrived, his name was George, but our participants quickly decided that wasn’t the right fit. With his beautiful white coat, they lovingly renamed him Snowball, and the name has stuck ever since!

Before coming to Circle T Ranch, Snowball spent his life as a hardworking ranch horse, helping cowboys gather and move cattle. He was dependable, willing, and always ready for a day’s work.

Today, Snowball has traded long days on the range for a very different—but equally important—job. He now helps individuals with developmental disabilities discover confidence, independence, and joy through horseback riding.

Snowball’s quiet personality, patient heart, and smooth, steady walk make him a favorite among many of our riders. Whether he’s carrying a first-time rider, standing quietly while someone gives him a hug, or patiently waiting during grooming time, Snowball reminds us that kindness is one of the greatest gifts a horse can give.

His journey from cattle ranches to equine-assisted activities is a beautiful example of how every horse can find a new purpose. At Circle T Ranch, Snowball isn’t just a horse, he’s a trusted partner, a confidence builder, and a gentle friend to everyone he meets.
