Cannoli Siciliani.
According to historians, the first to mention it was Cicero, in 70 BC. who during a trip to Sicily was enchanted by a "Tubus farinarius dulcissimo edulio ex lacte fartus", or a tube of flour filled with soft milk cream.
Sicilian Cannolo is one of the best-known specialties of Sicilian pastry making.
Originally they were prepared on the occasion of the carnival, over time the preparation lost its occasional character and became very widespread throughout the country, quickly becoming a renowned example of Italian pastry art in the world.

☆Panino Bolognese is
One of the most popular sandwiches on a roll in Italian Cuisine is the PANINO CON MORTADELLA. Panino
( meaning roll ) is simply served with thin sliced Mortadella. That Italian sausage originally from Bologna Italy seasoned with pistachios, nutmeg, garlic, black peppercorns....pork...It's also a main ingredient of another of Bologna's culinary treasures, Tortellini. Depending on what region in Italy you're in, the Panino is either NOT SEEDS or with SEEDS.
It seems Mainland Italy prefers the seedless type rolls, there's a specific roll too most use. And in Sicily, they enjoy it with seeds, often on the Mafalda panino. Since were not in Italy, I vacillate between seeded or not...ciabatta, or a delicious crusty baguette which ever im in the mood for it or what is looking the freshest in front of me!!

It is a five courses prefixed Italian cuisine 😋
Each course is explained by our Chef and Co owner Sara Elia,
of its region of Italy and how it was prepared!!
( To appreciate food one must understand the link to its origins and roots. Who brought it to the land / island? Who developed it? Why is it called that? )

At Piccolo eatery we serve a delicious meal that blends “old world” and “new world” Italian specialties - our homage to Southern Italy and its rustic, hearty comfort food of Sicily.
Piccolo eatery offers a comfortable setting to sip on some vino
(BYOB) while waiting for your dinner event to start, during and after dinner!

How it works
We welcome everyone to sit than we introduce our staff for the evening.
We start with some antipasto, followed by a primo traditional pasta or a wonderful risotto. We then move to the main course, made with the most fresh and high-quality locally sourced meat or fish ( lamb, beef, chicken, salmon, sea bass, …) and some might be accompanied with a contorno ( a side )
Now it's time for the Intermezzo.
intermezzo in a meal is meant to be refreshing, to cleanse the palate between courses usually a light salad or a sorbet.
We then finish the experience with a homemade dessert served with a hot freshly brewed cup of espresso ☕😋

Take your taste buds on a savory tour featuring a different region of northern Italy and Southern Italian and iconic cuisine of Sicily each month - so delicious you'll want to travel there in person.
