I borrowed this chart from another site because it clearly illustrates how all-consuming ADHD can be. When a child (or adult) suffers from an executive functioning disorder it is a daily struggle not only to learn, but to thrive. Social connections can be seriously impacted, especially when friends and significant others fail to understand the complexity of this disability that cannot immediately be detected by the human eye. However, there is hope. Social stories, therapy and medication does work. There is no need to suffer in silence.

Spelling rules got you down? It’s no wonder! Only about 80% of words in the English language follow the ‘rules’. That means 20% of words are ‘an exception to the rule’ or total rule breakers altogether. For students with reading disabilities, this makes learning how to read and especially spell a very daunting task. However there is hope, and help, out there.
