Disability Rights Arkansas
DRA is a statewide nonprofit organization that advocates for the rights of people with disabilities. As a part of that mandate, every state and U.S.
190 years ago, the Natural State was admitted to the Union. Over nearly two centuries, Arkansas has grown and changed in countless ways — from its communities and industries to the laws and systems that impact our daily lives. While we've made meaningful strides toward equity, the work isn't finished. As we celebrate Arkansas' 190th birthday, Disability Rights Arkansas remains committed to advocating for the dignity and respect of ALL Arkansans. We honor the progress we've made while continuing to push for a future where every person, regardless of disability, has an equal voice.
Happy Birthday, Arkansas! Here's to building a stronger, more inclusive Natural State for generations to come.

Learning Disability Week is observed each year during the third week of June, taking place this year from June 15–21. This important week is dedicated to raising awareness, promoting understanding, and celebrating the strengths and abilities of individuals with learning disabilities.
People with learning disabilities are more likely to experience challenges such as low self-esteem, social exclusion, bullying, and mental health struggles. These barriers are often created not by the disability itself, but by a lack of understanding and support from others.
Having a learning disability does not mean a person is not intelligent. It simply means they may learn differently and benefit from additional support, accommodations, and specialized instruction to help them succeed. Every individual has unique talents, abilities, and ways of learning that deserve to be recognized and valued.
This Learning Disability Week, let’s choose inclusion, compassion, and understanding — and work together to create a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. 💙

June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month
This month, we stand together to honor those living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, support caregivers, and raise awareness about the importance of brain health. Every memory matters, every caregiver matters, and every person affected deserves compassion, dignity, and understanding.
At Disability Rights Arkansas we believe in creating a community where individuals of all abilities and ages are supported, valued, and empowered. Join us this month in learning more, showing kindness, and advocating for those impacted by Alzheimer’s disease.
